C.L.I.C.K. for Justice & Equality

C.L.I.C.K. for Justice and Equality is an agent of change alerting our social community of injustices and inequalities among the disadvantaged and disenfranchised individual or group. A disadvantaged or disenfranchised person or group is anyone who is socially, culturally and politically deprived of or oppressed from life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our social world is shaped by our personal experiences.

July 31, 2009

What are the social policy implications?

From ancient Egyptian philosophers spoken and written of by Molefi Asante, Jacob Caruthers, Chiek Anta Diop and Psychologist Wade Noble; to ancient Greek thinkers like Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle; to Christian philosophers such as Augustine, Anselm, Aquinas and R.C. Sproul; to the shapers of modern thought such as Hume, Kant, Nietzsche, Illinois Congressman Danny Davis and Dr. Terra Thomas; What are the consequences of each of these thinkers and other important thinkers' ideas on world events, theology, the fine arts and culture? Are we, as a society, still scratching to survive our ideologies? Many of us work, interact and socialize with each other because we have too. There is a small percentage of those who do it because they want too. We draw racial and political boundaries to protect ourselves from being known for who we really are. What is your contribution to this trivia?

C.L.I.C.K. Services, NFP is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code. C.L.I.C.K. is a public charity. BACKGROUND

The Full House Committee on Appropriations marked up its version of the FY 2010 Labor, Health and Human Services and Education Appropriations Bill on Friday, July 17, 2009. Although a handful of programs that our field advocates for were recommended for small increases, the Committee voted to eliminate the State Grants portion of the Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities program and to cut the funding for the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention by nearly $1 million.

NEXT STEPS/URGENT ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN

The Senate is scheduled to mark up its version of the Labor, HHS and Education Appropriations Bill tomorrow. CADCA will send you specific legislative alerts on the programs listed in the chart below with sample letters and detailed instructions as the appropriations process moves forward It is imperative that when you receive these alerts, you act as soon as possible so that we can have maximum influence on FY 2010 funding levels for the programs that support our field. CADCA will not ask you to respond to the same alert twice, so please take a moment to respond each and every time you receive an alert.

PepsiCo sponsors national gay workshop
Print the new Boycott PepsiCo Pledge and distribute, including giving a copy to the manager of the grocery store where you shop.
July 14, 2009
Dear Fred,
PepsiCo has given thousands of dollars to become a sponsor of the homosexual "Out & Equal Workplace Summit" scheduled for Oct. 6-9 at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Florida.
The Out & Equal Workshop meetings are designed to show corporate leaders how they can promote the homosexual agenda in their corporation.
In becoming a sponsor of the Out & Equal conference PepsiCo has once again refused to give any support to those who are hurting and want to come out of this destructive and aberrant lifestyle.
In fact, homosexual activists continually tell corporate leaders (including PepsiCo) that it is impossible for an individual to leave the gay lifestyle. By helping fund the meeting, PepsiCo has decided to support that premise. PepsiCo gives thousands of dollars to promote homosexuality, but not one penny to help those who want out.
The organizers of the workshop say they are inviting "Political leaders and activists interested in understanding the impact of the equality movement in the workplace."
Take Action!
Sign the Boycott PepsiCo Pledge. After signing the pledge, please call Pepsi (914-253-2000 or 1-800-433-2652) and tell the company you will boycott its products until it stops promoting the homosexual agenda. If you will stay on the line, a live representative will take your call.
Call the PepsiCo bottler nearest you and ask it to use its influence in stopping the company's support for the homosexual agenda.
• Pepsi's products include Pepsi soft drinks, Frito-Lay chips and snacks (800-352-4477), Quaker Oats (800-367-6287), Tropicana (800-237-7799) and Gatorade (800-884-2867).
Print the new Boycott PepsiCo Pledgeand distribute, including giving a copy to the manager of the grocery store where you shop.
• Forward this e-mail to your friends and family so they will know about PepsiCo's support of the homosexual agenda. Millions of people are not aware of Pepsi's support of homosexual organizations.

Thank you for caring enough to get involved. If you feel our efforts are worthy of support, would you consider making a small tax-deductible contribution to help us continue?

Pallin' around with the liberal media
On Monday, Eric Boehlert highlighted Time's upcoming cover story on Sarah Palin, titled, "The Outsider: Where is Sarah Palin Going Next?" While Palin has certainly received her share of bad press, a great deal of it has been the inevitable result of her own statements and actions. Interpretive articles like this one, however, are different and provide journalists with the chance to use their judgment to put past actions and ongoing trials in a broader context that will help readers better understand the subject at hand.
