Subject: State of the Unions: Scary!

Tuesday, January 23, 2007
As President Bush takes stock of our nation tonight, the Center for Union Facts is reminding everyone of the state of the unions – they're big politics, they're bad for business, and they're meaner than ever!

In honor of this occasion, make sure you GO TO UNIONFACTS.COM TO SEE OUR HILARIOUS TV AD THANKING UNION BOSSES FOR THEIR CORRUPTION, FORCED DUES, DISCRIMINATION, AND POLITICS!

Since the Center for Union Facts launched in February 2006, we have continued to educate the public about the crime, corruption, harassment, and political power of Organized Labor. In fact, the day after Martin Luther King Day, we ran a full-page ad in USA Today proving the face of union leadership is "male, pale, and stale" – and told American that union leaders faced more than 14,000 federal racial, sexual, and religious discrimination claims between 2000 and 2006. Here are some more facts about modern union leadership that you can find by going UnionFacts.com:

  • Those discrimination allegations against union leaders have cost members more than $6 million of dues money paid out in fines
  • One major union – UNITE HERE – has been found guilty of defaming a hospital and ordered to pay $17 million (out of members dues), and was also found guilty of spying on employees by illegally using license plate numbers to track people to their homes Union bosses faced more than 40,000 allegations of violating federal labor law, mostly filed by their own members
  • Members lost more than 5 million work days in strikes called by labor officials 2004 and 2005

But the worst part is that union bosses are using their political clout to pressure politicians into supporting anti-democratic principles. Union bosses spent more than $100 million of their members' money electing Democrats, and now they want payback!

What do they want? Labor leaders are demanding a new organizing method called "card check," which would steal the right to a personal, private vote for working Americans who are deciding whether to join a union. Instead, paid union thugs can show up to your home and demand you to sign a petition-like card – and they know who's "cooperating"!
