IADDA Members -Late yesterday, Governor Blagjoevich signed SB 790 into law. SB 790 is the funds sweeps bill that provides revenue for SB 1103. However, without a signature on 1103, there is no appropriations bill to allocate funding to DASA. Thus, it is absolutely critical that the Governor take the final step in assuring restoration of funding by immediately signing SB 1103 into law in its current form.PHONE CALLS NEEDED NOWPlease call the Governor's offices at 217-782-6830 (Springfield) and 312-814-2121 (Chicago) NOW. Tell the person answering the phone that you understand SB 790 has been signed into law and urge him to ensure full restoration of addiction treatment funding by immediately signing SB 1103 as it is currently written. It is important for the Governor's office to hear from as many constituents as possible on behalf of addiction treatment. Make sure you identify yourself as someone who is concerned about addiction treatment funding. Please take a moment to make this urgent phone call now AND send this on to others. We must keep the issue of addiction treatment funding in front of the Governor to ensure restoration is a priority to his administration.THANK YOU!Sara Moscato Howe, MS, CHESCEOIL Alcoholism & Drug Dependence Association (IADDA)217.528.7335 ext. 11 - phone217.528.7340 - faxshowe@iadda.org - emailwww.iadda.org - websiteTo unsubscribe/change profile: click here.
