For Immediate Release: Tuesday, November 4, 2008Contact: Tumia Romero, 773-726-4479CONGRESSMAN DANNY K. DAVIS RESPONDS TO MEDIA INQUIRES REGARDING HIS INTEREST IN SERVING OUT THE TERM OF BARACK OBAMA SHOULD HE WIN THE PRESIDENCYCongressman Danny K. Davis, 7th District of Illinois responds to media inquiries regarding his interest in seeking the U. S. Senate seat should Senator Barack Obama win tonight's election for President of the United States of America. "First and foremost, for the past several months, I have focused on trying to help Senator Barack Obama become President of the United States of America, and have not spent much time thinking about what the future might hold for me. I hope and pray with every fiber of my being that tonight Senator Obama will be victorious and become President and even then it will be too early to determine whether I will seek the U. S. Senate vacancy should my friend Barack Obama win tonight's election. Through a press release, the Westside Elected Officials announced their support for me. I appreciate the confidence that the Westside Elected Officials have in my ability to serve in the Senate and the United States of America. And, I concur with them that I am qualified and able to serve the State of Illinois should the opportunity present itself. My congressional record speaks for itself and my ability to build coalitions locally, nationally and across the aisles in Congress is transparent.I look forward to continuing to serve the people of Illinois and my country in just what capacity I am not sure."Davis for Congress * 3333 W.
