I am in New York on assignment for tutoring and mentoring my nephew who attends Long Island University. I found a long time friend of mine who lives here. His name is Kurtis Blow. I have not seen Kurtis in over 20 years. I found that he has accepted Christ in his life and ministers in song at a local church in Harlem, where he was born.
I got his number from the church and called him. We chatted for a short time and he invited me to his 50th birthday party on Saturday, August 8, 2009, in Manhattan. I will attend to share old memories and get an update on his life, and re-acquaint myself with his family whom I was very close too.
