Re: Kristina Gaston and Facts payments
Father Paul:
I, Fred Nance Jr., Ph.D., respectfully submit this letter to you regarding the debit to my bank account on March 5, 2010 by Facts and De La Salle’s Business office. I submitted my bank account information to the De La Salle business office in December of 2009 to pay for my daughter’s tuition and PC tablet. On or about February 17, 2010, “new” bank information was given to the Business office for this debit transaction. The “Facts Change of Status Form” dated February 17, 2010 states “…Tablet 3-5-2010…Tuition 3-20-2010…” reporting that this “new” information would delete the “old” information, which was my bank account. On March 5, 2010, $56.00 was taken out of my account and out of my wife’s “new” bank account information.
On March 8, 2010 I called Facts talking to Ms. Sheryl Davis. I informed her that $56.00 was taken out of two of our bank accounts for my daughter’s PC Tablet. I informed Ms. Davis that the extraction of the $56.00 from my account caused my account to note the debit as a non-sufficient fund transaction because I had a minimal amount of money in that account. After investigating while I was on the phone, Ms. Davis acknowledged that monies were taken from both accounts in the amount of $56.00. Ms. Davis said I would be reimbursed, and that she would get back to me by Wednesday. I did not hear from Ms. Davis. Therefore, I called Facts and De La Salle today, March 12, 2010 requesting the $56.00.
On March 12, 2010, I talked to Ms. Ronzio about this matter after I was told by Ms. Husband that I would have to wait another two weeks before I could get my money from De La Salle. I asked Ms. Husband to escalate my call to a supervisor because I did not want Ms. Husband to be blamed for anything involving this issue. I know how some people pass the buck to avoid being responsible for their behaviors. Ms. Husband had nothing to do with this issue.
Normally, this would not have not bothered me as it has but for a note dated March 5, 2010 from Mr. Michael Senjanin that was given to my daughter. The note states in part “…Dear Parent/Guardian…You have failed to make your January-February payment(s) to Facts…IF YOU FAIL TO MAKE THIS PAYMENT, THE SCHOOL WILL COLLECT THE TABLET PC FROM YOUR SON/DAUGHTER….WITHOUT A TABLET PC YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE PREPARED FOR THEIR CLASSES AND WILL BE SUBJECT TO SUSPENSION” This is an outrageous statement, and is threatening. This statement seems like a statement that would come from a “Payday Loan” event. Not only is this statement offensive, it is inappropriate to send to me. The Facts payments for January and February of 2010 were taken out of my bank account on January 5, 2010 and February 5, 2010. Ms. Davis of Facts confirmed this reality.
Does De La Salle lack appropriate, non-offensive “language” that will assist in collecting a debt? What kind of population does De La Salle think is attending their school? If De La Salle has sank this low, offering this type of language to parents/caregivers of students attending this school, then De La Salle is comparative to the schools we hear about in the news where dysfunction is the norm and societal norms are non-existent. I thought De La Salle was exemplary to other schools in the area. The types of people who are employed at De La Salle demonstrate the character and demeanor of the school.
I told Ms. Ronzio that I wanted to give her an explanation about why I was upset. As usual, Ms. Ronzio said she was not interested why I was upset. I told Ms. Ronzio I was going to tell her anyway. I told her how I felt about this statement. Ms. Ronzio told me that the note was a “form” letter. I told Ms. Ronzio her statement was indicative of one being arrogant, and the statement on the “form” letter was defaming and demeaning. When you send people information like this “form” letter, expect what you get in return.
Sir, I informed Ms. Ronzio that I would write this correspondence to you. The “form” letter did not create itself. Someone created it. Ms. Ronzio’s answer is why I do not deal with her. I just want my money, just as De La Salle wants their money. Ms. Ronzio told me my money would be ready at the Boys Campus today. I called the Girls Campus, asking my daughter to pick it up.
I think the public-at-large needs to know how De La Salle operates. Information allows people to make informed decisions.
Respectfully submitted,
Fred Nance Jr., Ph.D.
