President Obama, declaring them "the strongest consumer financial protections in history," signed into law Wednesday a sweeping package of Wall Street reforms, adding to his list of legislative accomplishments. Because of this law, he said, "the American people will never again be asked to foot the bill for Wall Street's mistakes. There will be no more taxpayer-funded bailouts. Period."
