Congratulations!!!
ProjectHOOD is proud to announce the advancement of its rescue effort to revitalize the most dangerous communities on Chicago's south side - Woodlawn and Englewood. Since its inception on November 22, 2010, accompanied by the 94 day "rooftop" vigil by Pastor Corey Brooks which ended February 24, 2012, and the Walk Across America from NY to LA., ProjectHOOD is more committed now, than ever before to fulfill our vision to eradicate violence, one neighborhood at a time.
You have been instrumental in helping us to ensure that the voice of hundreds of young lives, senselessly wiped out by gun violence and the lives of their families which were abruptly overwhelmed by grief, have not been silenced by bureaucratic rhetoric. Your continued, collaborative support of prayers and donations have allowed us to unfortunately, lead the cry for attention on what is now the most talked about issue in America - Gun Violence!
It's on this premise, that we, the ProjectHOOD team want to take a moment to not only "celebrate you," but also apologize for not consistently being as effective as we could have been in communicating our current state. Well, we are excited to introduce this "NEW" newsletter as our solution to that challenge and our way of staying in step with the increased need to inform our partners of where we are, and where we are going.
ProjectHOOD News (PHN) will feature articles, updates and video links that'll highlight the most up to date information centered around educational, economical, social and spiritual challenges and the solutions being used to combat these ills. This is our 1st edition and you'll see below, some very inspiring things that are happening. We sincerely hope you enjoy the layout and content. By all means, feel free share this correspondence with your family, friends and co-workers and let them know, it's time to "Stop ganging up on each other, but gang up on the problem!"
