Wake up America!!! Poverty in America: Defend the Safety Social Net – The current “Farm Bill” sticks it to the poor. Republicans fought the stimulus bill but support the Farm Bill. The Farm Bill was established in 1933 to keep food on the table. Corporations corrupted the Farm Bill and made it a corporate hand-out. The Tea Party is silent on this “big” spending. The current Farm Bill proposal by the Republicans is $955 Billion dollars over 10 years, and it cuts nearly 20 Billion from the Food Stamp program. Republican Steven Fincher of Tennessee is a supporter of the current Farm Bill proposal and one of the biggest recipients of it. Mr. Fincher gets direct payments based on how much land he owns. The biggest farms reap profits even if they do not produce any food. Mr. Fincher gets $193.00 a day and Food Stamp program recipients get $4.40 a day. The Food Stamp program is called SNAP. Republican Fincher believes cuts in the Food Stamp program are appropriate according to 2 Thessalonians 3:10, which states “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.” Is this outrageous or what? Republicans are cutting over 20 billion from the SNAP program in this Farm Bill. Lou Dobbs believes these cuts to the SNAP program are not deep enough, but he does not have worry about putting food on his table with the big check he receives. What are we going to do about this revelation? What about Monsato and its Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs)? It’s the next topic for discussion on Poverty in America. Real unemployment is 14%. This is what we should be concentrating on in America. Wake up America.
