I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Alison Lundergan Grimes and I'm running to retire Mitch McConnell. With your help, I will be the next United States Senator from Kentucky.

I'm running because there was a time that Washington worked for the people. It was a time when differences could be put aside. It wasn't always easy, but our elected officials worked together to try to find a common ground for the sake of our country.

Compromise and common ground aren't things that we should be afraid or ashamed of. But there is a disease of dysfunction in Washington, and the self-proclaimed "Guardian of Gridlock" Senator McConnell is at the center of it.

Senator McConnell has wasted decades blocking legislation that could help Kentuckians and move this nation forward. He's led the charge on over 400 filibusters -- an unprecedented level of obstruction in Washington. Frankly, if Senator McConnell had a kidney stone, he wouldn't pass that either! I'm asking for your help today to make sure that McConnell's obstruction stops now.
