Obama banking on large-scale public works project - Yahoo! News
President-elect Barack Obama said Saturday he wants to revive the economy through a job-creating public works plan on a scale unseen since the building program of the interstate highway system in the 1950s.
Many Americans who have lost their jobs or are either in jeopardy of losing of their jobs do not have "transferrable" employment skills. A transferrable employment skill is the ability or talent to work in an area that one is not trained. If one does not have a transferrable employment skill then the creation of jobs in public works will be controlled and manipulated by the Unions and local employers of those with the "public works" skill.
Therefore, who will be employed to re-build the infrastruture? It will certainly not assist minorities in obtaining employment. Who has the plan to include all unemployed people of America? If this plan that Mr. Obama has does not employ those who have no transferrable employment skills, who will it employ? This is the most important question.
