This week marked the 51st anniversary of the March in Selma, Alabama, where brave Americans risked their lives for the right to vote.

Today, the right to vote is still under attack. We can't allow American voters to be disenfranchised like this.

51 years ago, brave men and women risked their lives -- some even sacrificing their own blood -- in the fight for voting rights in Selma.

Despite the progress made that day, America still faces great challenges in ensuring that everyone has the right to vote. That's because the Supreme Court struck down key provisions of the Voting Rights Act in 2013.

And now, Republicans in states across the country are able to systematically roll back voting rights.

Republicans have placed restrictions on early voting, limits on same day voting, and enacted unnecessary voter ID laws.

Make no mistake -- these laws unfairly target minority voters. And on the anniversary of the Selma Voting Rights Marches, we have to take a stand.

These laws are outrageous. We can't allow American voters to be disenfranchised like this.

We've won this fight before, and Democrats are fighting tooth and nail to win again. But it's going to take all of us working together.

Thanks,
